UAF hockey releases 2014-2015 hockey schedule

FAIRBANKS-The Alaska hockey season ended just a month and a day ago for the but the schedule for the 2014-2015 season is already out. The Nooks will have 16 games home and away but will end the year the way it starts in conference play with four road games.

The puck drops on the new season with the annual Blue and Gold Game at the Patty on Sept 17. Western Ontario visits the Carlson Center on Oct. 3 for an exhibition matchup.
A week later in the Kendall Hockey Classic the Nooks will play Wisconsin and Maine.

In the Brice Alaska Goal Rush UAF will host Air Force and Penn State. The Nittany Lions bench boss is Guy Gadowsky. Remember "Gads"? He coached UAF from 1999-2004.

Alaska's first WCHA series is at Bemidiji State on Halloween. UAF starts 2015 with defending WCHA champs Ferris State at home. That's the only meeting of the year.

The first two games of the Gov Cup will be at the Carlson on Jan 16 and 17. The Nooks will travel to Alabama Huntsville for the first time in 2015 before wrapping up the regular season against rival UAA.

UAF finished 18-15-4 overall and 3rd in the WCHA in their first season in the conference.
