UAF hockey picks up BCHL Viper recruit

FAIRBANKS-The Alaska Nanook hockey team recognize their seniors for the last time tonight at their awards banquet. But once a season ends it's time to reload and the Nanooks are doing just that. Colton Sparrow of the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL has committed to UAF for next season.

Sparrow is showing up in the playoffs with 18 points in 15 playoff games including three points in a game seven overtime win for the Vipers. He has 34 points in 50 games this year. Sparrow is also a former teammate of standout rookie Marcus Basara. The two played together in 2011 and 2012 in the BCHL.

The British Colombian joins eight other UAF hockey recruits for the upcoming 2014-2015 which includes three defenseman, two wings and three forwards.three others have committed for the 2015 season as well.
