UAF harriers win first meet in four years

LACEY, WASH.-The Nanook cross country teams continue their strong start. Saturday the men's team won the Saint Martin's University Cross Invitational. It was the first team win in foUr years for UAF. All seven runners placed in the top 10 finishing in spots 2,3,4, 6 and 7.

Redshirt sophomore Ross MacDougall came in second to pace the Nooks running 26:54.34 time in the eight kilometer race. SMU was second then Seattle Pacific was third in the five team field.

For the ladies the freshmen almost won as well placing second behind Seattle Pacific. The Nanooks had five runners scoring in the top 10 as well. Freshmen Kali Striker and Nicole Bathe led the team with sixth and seventh place finishes with 23:50.02 and 24:08.32 times.

UAF will be in the Western Cross Country Classic on Oct 12 in Bellingham, Wash.
