UAF freshmen swimmers impressive in first dual meets

FAIRBANKS-Even though the Nanook swim team couldn't get the upset in their dual meet against division one Loyola Marymount over the weekend the Nanook freshmen class has been more than productive.

Today freshman Victoria Adams was named ERA Alaska Nanook of the week. Over the weekend Adams broke three Patty Center Pool records breaking records in the 200 backstroke, the 200 IM, a record she posted earlier this season, and was a part of the 200 medley relay. She won three events and two relays. She is top ten in five events in the country and is ranked as high as fourth in the 200 back.

Fellow freshman Kathryn Pound won the 200 free relay, 500 and 1000 free events on Friday against the Lions.

The Nanooks (2-2, 2-0 PCSC) won't be back in the pool until Dec 6 for the Husky Inviational in Federal Way, Wash.
