UAF cross country teams end seasons at regionals

SPOKANE, WASH.-The Nanook cross country team finished its season over the weekend in Spokane, Washington at the NCAA West Regional Championships.

The women's team placed 20th out of 23 teams. Kali Striker placed 88th respectively in 24:7 to lead the Nanooks. All six freshman got their first regional experience. Dorothy O'Donnell of West Valley came in about 38 seconds later for UAF.

UAA won the west region title by three points as their top runners went 1-2.

On the men's side senior Tux Seims led the team in his final race finishing the 10K in 33:54.3 for 69th place. The Nanooks placed 15th out of 18 teams. Ross MacDougall placed 80th for the Nanooks in a little over 34 minutes.

Chico State won the men's west region title as their top runners went 1-2-3.
