UAF Cross Country signs 4 runners

FAIRBANKS, AK-It maybe the off season for Nanook sports but there is still activity going on throughout the programs in the way of recruiting. The Nanook cross country team has announced four signees to the program.

Dorothy O'Donnell, a West Valley product will dawn the blue and gold but joining her will be Madalyn Pheifer of New Hampshire, Kali Striker from Midlothian, Virginia and Hannah Stevens out of Eagle River Alaska.

Pheifer will brings the hardware with 5 Nordic New Hampshire state titles, 4 conference Skiing Championships and two conference running champion titles. Striker has a strong long distance track and field background, an all state selection and finished third in state this past fall. Stevens brings the some toughness. An injury sidelined her early in the year but Stevens came back and finished ninth in the state after placing third in the Region IV Championships.

The four recruits will bolster a good mix of Nanooks with a handful of sophomores and three seniors Raphaela Sieber, Heidi O'Coonor-Brook, and Alyson McPhetres.
