UAA Hockey has six head coaching finalists

ANCHORAGE, AK-The Seawolves down in Anchorage, the Nanooks rivals, are trying to move forward after the recent troubles in their athletic department and hockey program. Now UAA has 6 finalists for their next hockey coach.

ECHL Stockton Thunder coach Matt Thomas who has also been a coach at Fresno and Atlantic City is a candidate.

Along with Michael Corbett, a 10 year assistant with Air Force, is Chris Brown a former UAA assistant coach and head coach of division three Augsburg College. They were part of the original coaching search.

The second coaching search yielded Kevin Hartzell a former US Hockey League coach of the Sioux City Stampede. Hartzell also won two league titles. Long time assistant Dave Peters of Dartmouth College of the ECAC is a finalists. The last candidate is Ron Fogarty. Fogarty has been the head coach at division three Adrian College since its hockey program started in 2006.

The finalists will interview with school officials, hockey alumni, and a public forum up until June 14th.
