Two Blood Donors Receive Award

FAIRBANKS- After nearly 60 years of donating blood, two local men were awarded trophies for their efforts. The Blood Bank in Fairbanks hosted a small ceremony for James Zielinksi and Stan Murray, who have each donated 25 gallons of blood, a rare achievement. According to the CEO of the Blood Bank of Alaska, in the past five years only 10 people in the  state have donated that amount and it's enough blood to save potentially 600 people. Both men said it's an honor to receive recognition, but donating blood is its own reward.
