The tuition assistance program for the military – it's been a hot topic for soldiers and families in the service.
Recently the Department of Defense announced they would suspend the T–A program due to sequestration as well as budget cuts, and all soldiers who applied would be denied.
As of yesterday, it has been announced by D–O–D that it will *not* be suspended after all.
They will continue to pay for the program for all four branches of the U.S. Military.
The recently passed continuing resolution has prevented the elimination of the funding.
The Pentagon will comply with the law and maintain the same level of funding that each service was provided before the suspensions.
Ltc. Robert Eriksen, Garrison Chief of Staff told Newscenter11 "As far as the reinstatement they are going to continue to monitor and evaluate the program in the event that the situation, the fiscal situation improves. The Department of Defense wide is looking at all programs."
