A hiker who slid nearly 30 feet down the side of a mountain was rescued after calling for help from her cell phone Sunday afternoon.
18-year-old Cherelle LaGrou of Washington was hiking in the area of Fox Creek near mile 241 of the Parks Highway when she reportedly lost her footing.
LaGrou was able to stop herself from the fall on the side of a rock ledge and phone for authorities.
Troopers said they responded to her call within minutes; they were able to secure her with ropes so she wouldn't fall further down the mountain.
After she was secured the Troopers climbed to her while she was pulled from above to safety.
No injuries were reported in the fall.
