FAIRBANKS- Alaska State Troopers began the “Adventure Relay” in Fairbanks today; the race will end 40 checkpoints later in Seward. The relay started at the Trooper post with a 5k run through downtown, a float to Pike’s Landing, and a bike ride to Ester. In the coming days, Runners, hikers, and kayakers will team up to reach the finish line, which is 650 miles away in Seward. They are expected to get there by July 28. State Troopers organize the Adventure Relay annually to raise money for Wish Upon a North Star. The Alaskan charity fulfills wishes of children with life threatening illnesses.
