Tripod placed for the Nenana Ice Classic

The state's largest 'lottery' has officially begun.

Workers have set up a tripod for the Nenana Ice Classic 2014.

The tripod was set up on Sunday on the Tanana River in Nenana for the annual guessing game.

As soon as the ice begins to thaw the tripod tips on the shifting ice and stops a clock.

The Ice Classic draws in entries from across the state paying $2.50 cents a guess.

They are available for purchase until April 5th; officials with the Ice Classic report they have collected over 11 million dollars in the past 97 years of the game.

Last year's classic had a jackpot of $318,500.
