FAIRBANKS-Today at Monroe Catholic for the first time the Rams had 3 student athletes sign nation letters of intent on the same day. Good timing. Their graduation is tomorrow. Christian Nickerson, Tyler Wells, and Michael Neville will move on.

A basketball and football player, Neville, signed to the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota to play tight end for the Marauders-a Division II football program. He plans to major in business.

"The school wasn't too big and it wasn't too small it was perfect for me. It's a Catholic college and really enjoyed their coaching staff. Real nice people," Neville said.

Nickerson will play basketball for Northwest Indian College in Bellingham, Washington a program that only lost twice last year. He intends to major in health science.

Wells picks the orange over the pigskin. He'll be going to Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, Wyoming to play for basketball for the Mustangs. He plans to major in business management and hopes to transfer to Portland State or the University of Northern Arizona.

"I think you know being a part of a great team just makes me a better player. I think it has a lot to do with me being the athlete that I am and being able to get recruited by all these schools so it definitely had a good part," Wells said.

The trio were joined by their family and kindergarten buddies that they mentored this season as they inked forms to start their new careers.

"My decision to go to Northwest Indian was just because it was so close to home but it was far enough away that I would be away from home," Nickerson said. "That was the ultimate decision."
