Telemed Future at Chief Andrew Isaac

FAIRBANKS- During the annual Tanana Chiefs Conference convention, the health director for the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center showcased new technology that will allow the clinic provide care directly to villages.  They connected to a live video feed between the Fairbanks Clinic and Koyukuk clinic, about a 2 hour flight away as a demonstration of a telemed service. It was a staged appointment, but it showed how the clinic could prescribe medication immediately, without the patient needing to fly to Fairbanks– a HUGE improvement from the past.

Health Director and new TCC President, Victor Joseph said, he wants them to be able to see doctors from their villages and “You don't need to pay the 500 dollars for that plane ticket.”
