The holidays are a time for family, but what happens when family members are separated by distance? Ninety–three–year–old John Cavano  has been using computers for more than a decade and with help from his caregiver, he Skypes with his family. It's part of the "Silver Surfers" program from the agency, Visiting Angels and it can make a big difference in somebody's well–being.

One study shows seniors who surf the Internet can lower their risk of depression by about 20%. Another finding shows that seniors using Facebook improve their working memory by about 25%, but for Cavano, the ability to visit using technology is simply, a blessing.
