Superintendent's leave due to investigation of reported sex abuse by District employee

The Fairbanks North Star Borough School District School Board has revealed the reason for Superintendent Pete Lewis’ administrative leave, and it stems from the alleged sexual abuse case of one of its employees.
The board announced it was an ongoing investigation as to how the District handled the matters of Hutchison High School Instructor and Tutor, Claude Fowlke’s alleged sexual abuse of a 15-year-old male student, that reportedly led to the administrative actions.
Although they claimed it was not “disciplinary” and no wrongdoing has been found in the matter as of yet, the board released that the abuse needs to be investigated, including how all policies and procedures were followed.
