State Officers Compensation Commission seeks pay raises

A new proposal by the State Officers Compensation Commission seeks pay raises.

The Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Commissioners would all receive raises under the proposal.

The commission was formed to review salaries and benefits for office holders and law makers.

The commission plans to finalize the preliminary recommendations next week in Anchorage.

The increases, if approved, would become effective July 1st.

The Governors salary would increase by roughly 5 thousand dollars, Lieutenant Governors would increase by roughly 4 thousand dollars, and salaries for commissioners would increase nearly 9 thousand dollars.
