Standout freshman is UAF's swimming MVP

FAIRBANKS-The Nanook swim team recently gave out their team awards and one freshman had a year to remember.

Victoria Adams closed out her first year as a Nanook swimmer winning MVP, Rookie of the Year and Most Improved.

Adams earned six All-American honors, led the team in scoring at the PCSC Championships, won 10 individual events at dual meets and even won the Blue-Gold Penthalon to start the year. She set new program records including one in the 200 IM.

Senior Bente Heller won Most Inspirational. Margot Adams, Victoria's big sister, won the Hammer Award for her high level of training. Kendra Ashwell was the Attitude award winner and Linnea Doumas and Danielle Lyons were the Scholar Athletes of Year with 4.0 GPAs in the fall.
