Spring Fling sets record

FAIRBANKS, AK-On Saturday the 11th annual Spring Fling 5K set a record. Not for a finishing time but for the field. 113 runners were up by UAF as 59 guys and 54 gals completed the 5K.

Ross MacDougall, a Nanook cross country runner, finished first in 16 minutes and 28 seconds. Chris Eversman, a former Nanook runner took second in 17:03. Sam Herried was third, Joe Bue was fourth and Roger Sayre, the master's runner, took fifth.

Anna Worden's 20:28 time was the top women's finish was thirteenth overall. Jaime Johnson was second, followed by Morgan Bender, Maria Stensland and Dorli McWayne who finished in fifth place for the women.
