The Richardson Highway between Delta Junction and Valdez will be getting a faster speed limit.
The increase from 55 miles per hour to 65 miles per hour goes into effect this week for the stretch of roadway.
Earlier this week crews with the Alaska Department of Transportation began switching out the signage and it is expected to be complete by tomorrow.
DOT says the change reflects information from a study they conducted on speed rates in Alaska.
Also among the changes are new zone striping and school bus warning signs.
