Slick roads cause injury accident

A woman was hurt in a one vehicle accident in west Fairbanks Tuesday evening.

The crash occurred on the access ramp that runs from Airport Way near Fred Meyer West to the Mitchell expressway.

State troopers say the  vehicle had skidded out of control on the ramp, rolled twice, and ended up on top of the snow berm at the side of the road.

The driver, identified as 54 year old Evangeline Maxon of Fairbanks, was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

Passers–by were helping the injured woman, who was lying on the roadway beside the vehicle.

They brought her coats and blankets to keep her warm until an ambulance and state troopers arrived and took over the scene.
