Six Nanook swimmers make NCAAs

FAIRBANKS-The UAF swim team will send six from their sqaud to the NCAA Championships. Senior Benter Heller, Juniors Margot Adams, Danielle Lyons, Gabi Summers and freshmen Victoria Adams and Nga Nguyen will journey to the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Mar. 12 for the national championships.

Heller will defend her 100 backstroke title and will swim in the 50 and 100 frees. Margot Adams is ranked fourth in the country in the 100 butterfly. She's been a national runner-up back to back years. Heller and Adams are making their third straight NCAA appearance.

Victoria Adams will be featured in the 200 back. She's ranked 16th. Nguyen will be a key cog on the relay teams as well as Summers and Lyons who are relay alternates.

Last season only Margot Adams and Heller were at nationals now they bring the relay team. The Nanooks will compete in the 200 medley relay, they're 7th in the country in that event. They'll also swim the 400 medley, 200, 400 and 800 free relays.
