Shuttleworth wins Alaska State Senior Golf Title

PALMER, AK-This past weekend a local player is bringing a championship to Fairbanks. Cathy Shuttleworth won the Alaska State Senior Golf Championship at Palmer Golf Course this weekend.

In the three day event she won the net championship with a 213 score. Shuttleworth had round of 68 on Sunday. Jaime Berge finished in second. Berge also shot a 68 on the final day. Connie Johnson also of Fairbanks finished sixth with a 230. This could be a warm up for Shuttleworth and the rest of the Fairbanks participants at the State Senior Golf Championships.

Rick Boyles was third in the men's division of the championship flight in the gross standings and placed tenth in the net standings.

The City Championships start this weekend. Shuttleworth won it all in 2011 and was third last year. The FGA Amateur Championships starts on Friday the 26th at the Fairbanks Golf Course.

The deadline to register is tomorrow at 6 pm.
