Senator questions E P A head

Senator Lisa Murkowski yesterday questioned E. P. A. head Lisa Jackson about a number of Alaska concerns during a budget hearing.

Murkowski pointed out a recent editorial in the  Washington Post, echoing the concerns of many Alaskans, that some within the EPA are acting in an "unduly severe" fashion on enforcement.

She asked about two issues that effect the interior, the Healy coal plant, and if Fairbanks could be given an extension on meeting new air quality requirements on particulate pollution.

Jackson told the Senator she will get back to her with answers to her questions.
