A group of senators is continuing its hearings on energy prices in Alaska — this time focusing on the Interior.
The group, which includes Sens. Joe Thomas, Lyman Hoffman and Bill Wielechowski, has been charged with looking at ways to reduce gas and heating fuel prices in Alaska.
A meeting in July in Anchorage, focused primarily on gas prices, also included state representatives.
Today's meeting in Fairbanks is slated to include testimony from state officials, refineries, an energy economist and the federal coordinator for Alaska natural gas pipeline projects. Public testimony will also be taken.
The hearing is scheduled at the Noel Wien Library from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. this afternoon, and public testimony will be taken from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
