School bus near Glenallen collides with semi.

Just before Noon today (Friday) Glennallen State Troopers, with help from an Alaska State Park Ranger, an Alaska Wildlife Trooper, Kenny Lake EMS, Valdez Police, Valdez Fire Department and EMS, responded to a traffic accident at mile 55 of the Richardson Hwy. Troopers say a bus owned by Unique Bus Charters and operated by 72 year old Vernon Brown of Kenai was carrying Skyview and Kenai High school cross country ski teams when it rear ended a tractor trailer owned by the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. The semi was operated by 60 year old James Woodhouse. Brown was extricated from the bus by Valdez Fire Department. Some students on the bus sustained injuries and all were transported to Valdez by a First Student bus while Brown and Woodhouse were taken by ambulance to Valdez hospital. Brown was later medevac'd to Providence Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. Investigation is continuing.
