The rest of June is busy for runners

FAIRBANKS-Now that spring is here and the summer is just around the corner that means the Interior will have one their running shoes. Here's on outlook for the running events for the rest of June.

Tomorrow at the West Valley High School Trails will be the Kids' Cross Country Races at 6 p.m. starting at the West Valley Soccer Fields. Then this Saturday morning at 10 a.m. you have the 22nd Mosquito Meander 5K at Pioneer Park.

Also this Saturday at 11am in Pioneer Park is bib pick up for the 32nd Midnight Sun Run which is at 10pm on June 21st.

This Sunday is the Wickerhsam Dome Trail Run. It's the third race in the Running Club North's Trail series. That's at 11 a.m. on the White Mountains Trailhead on the Elliot Highway.

If you like to run at night then Dawn 2 Dusk and Dusk 2 Dawn All Night run is Wednesday June 18. A 4 mile loop where you run from 12:47 a.m. to 2:58 a.m.

On June 26 is the Jim Loftus Mile at West Valley High School. The one mile race is the third race in the Flint Hills Cup and it's $5 to run a mile.

June closes out with the second Kids Cross Country race on Friday June 27 and three races on Saturday June 28. Those races on Saturday include the Spruce Tree Classic, Sluice Box 100 and the Run From The Cops Run 5K.
