Resolution passed seeking Federal investigation in Fairbanks 4 case

Fairbanks- Advocate Shirley lee addressed the Tanana Chief's Conference this afternoon, thanking members for passing a resolution concerning the Fairbanks four.

The four men are convicted of killing 15 year old john Hartman in 1997.

The resolution asks the federal government to step in and conduct the investigation that the state has been internally investigating for months.

Lee said when new evidence was presented, they rejoiced, thinking the young men in prison for the crime might have some hope and would eventually be proven innocent.

Instead they received what she termed a biased response from the state of Alaska.
