Renfrew wins FGA Senior Amateur Golf Title

FAIRBANKS, AK-After three days of golf on three different courses Bill Renfrew and Connie Johnson won the 26th Annual Senior Amateur Championship.

Renfrew won by a stroke putting up 233 over three days. He was also the super senior champion for golfers at least 65 years of age. Rick Boyles was second, Tony Graziadi finished third (241) and Mike Shultz was fourth (246). Bruce Laiti (248) and Robert Kimball (261) round out the top five in the championship flight.

Connie Johnson won the women's title with a 256 over the weekend. Santina Meath won the super senior women's title with a 273 and was second to Johnson.

The first flight men's title went to Tom Chadwick. Chadwick's 244 score was also the fourth best for the tournament. He pulled a Renfrew too, Chadwick was the first flight super senior champion as well.

Bruce Delbridge finished in second place in the first flight due to a card-off with C.J. Leonelli as both golfers had a 249.

For second flight the championship went to Steve Kunz who finished witha 250 after three days.. With a 265 Sam McConkey won the super senior title for the second flight. Micheal Smith was the runner-up in this flight with a 263

Jon Orr won the third flight shooting a 274 which was also good for a super senior title. Wayn Taylor's 279 was good enough for second.
