Preparing for rain during midnight sun

FAIRBANKS- Cross your fingers that the rain passes through before the midnight sun festivities, but runners of the Midnight Sun Run can prepare now for a great race. Past winner of the Midnight Sun Run, Mike Kramer says people should be prepared Saturday night. "It can be in the 40s and raining and I would recommend people have a wind breaker at least or a rain coat,” Kramer says. It's also a good idea to pack a hat to block any rain, gloves that you can throw out if you get too hot, and socks with synthetic fabric to avoid blisters. And there’s one tip that can keep you warm and give you a relatively stylish costume. "Just wear a garbage bag. Punch holes in it and it will preserve the body heat until the start and you can toss it aside and that's a good trick.”
