A National Transportation Safety Board spokesman says a small plane crash near the Happy Valley airstrip north of Alaska's Brooks Range has seriously injured three people.
NTSB spokesman Clint Johnson said one of those injured in the Wednesday afternoon crash was a child. He says the agency was told that a Helio Courier crashed on takeoff from an airstrip near a haul road in the area.
The Courier is a plane capable of short takeoffs and landings. North Slope Borough Search and Rescue personnel reportedly responded to the crash. Additional details were not immediately available.
