The Parks Highway is back to two lanes of traffic in the Denali National Park area.
A washout caused by high water from the Nenana River near Mile 240 reduced the highway to one-lane traffic for almost three days.
Department of Transportation workers Monday were able to repair erosion damage to the section of road that runs parallel to the river just north of McKinley Village.
Department spokeswoman Meadow Bailey says the repairs were temporary and crews will focus on permanent repairs.
She says the eroded river bank must be fortified and that guard rail that was ripped up must be replaced. Crews will also lay new pavement.
