FAIRBANKS- Parking fees are going up at Alaska's two largest airports. Officials with Fairbanks International Airport say fuel prices and new regulations have increased their costs dramatically. The parking fees will increase about 20 percent as of January 1st at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and at Fairbanks International Airport. Motorists can expect hourly parking fees in Fairbanks to increase about 50 cents. One thing will not change, the first half–hour of parking will remain free. The public can comment on the proposed rates on the airport website. There is a link to the website below.
