Ostanik representing Interior on national stage

FAIRBANKS-Eielson alumni and former Alaska Nanook assistant coach Frank Ostanik, who is the head coach at Monroe, is getting recognition on the national stage.

He is a finalist in USA Today's high school sports Best Boys Basketball Coach competition. The winner of receives the national honor and $2,000 for their program. He won the regional round with over 86,000 votes thanks to the support from the Interior.

"Coach O",as his team calls him, has a 117-31 record with Monroe, three straight Aurora titles and consecutive 3A state titles.

Ostanik is in the finals and still needs votes.  The voting ends tomorrow at 11 am Alaska time so you have tonight and the morning to get in your vote.
