Lately there has been a lot of construction around town courtesy of the Department of Transportation for the State of Alaska, and more is planned for this summer.If you have ever wondered what it takes to run those big machines or what goes into planning a big construction project.
Those questions and more will be answered this Saturday with a "Super Open House" from 10am until 2pm at the Department of Transportation on Peger Road.
In addition to the displays of equipment and an update on construction projects, lunch will be provided and there will be job opportunities made available for this summer.
Jody Thomas with DOT says this event will have something for everyone.
"A family fun event we're presenting other information on projects that are going on. We will have equipment out on display for the kids to play on local 71 is participating and providing lunch for everyone there will also be recruitment opportunities and places to sign up for job opportunities."
