NENANA, AK -- A 20-year-old Fairbanks man is dead and his 19-year-old brother was seriously injured earlier today after their small car rear-ended a Department of Transportation road grader along the Parks Highway near Nenana.
Alaska State Troopers say Robert Gusty was the driver of a small passenger car that struck the road grader as both vehicles were traveling southbound at Mile 296 of the highway. Gusty died at the scene of the accident.
According to Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters, Gusty's passenger, 19-year-old Brad Gusty, also of Fairbanks, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the accident continues.
