Not guilty pleas for Fairbanks man accused of sexually abusing a minor

Not guilty pleas today for a Fairbanks man accused of sexually abusing a minor.

56-year-old Bobby Nashookpuk was indicted on 9 counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree along with a single count of exploitation of a minor, which is a class B felony.

According to court documents the abuse began in September of 2005 and continued through December of 2013.

Nashookpuk was also accused of attempting to exploit the alleged victim by making pornography in August through December of 2013.

Today in Fairbanks Superior Court, he appeared with his lawyer, public defender Joyanna Mickels, who has been assigned to represent him.

He is being held at Fairbanks Correctional Center without bail.
