A North Pole man charged with multiple counts of Felony assault has been arraigned in Fairbanks District Court.
33–year–old Shaun White was arraigned today after being charged with 3 counts of Assault in the 2nd Degree and 2 misdemeanor assault charges.
According to court documents, White, a military member, assaulted the woman he lived with early Sunday morning.
Troopers said White assaulted her multiple times, strangling her, with intent to cause serious injury.
The victim in court today asked for leniency but the judge and prosecutor disagreed stating the charges were serious, "The allegations are serious; the fact that the course of conduct could merit bumping it up to attempted murder, trying to strangle someone 3 times."
Bail for White was set at 15,000 dollars due to the seriousness of the allegations.
A hearing for the case is set for February 6th.
