A North Pole man has been arraigned in Fairbanks superior court after a standoff with State Troopers and the North Pole Police Department.
28-year-old Ryan J. Sparks is charged with multiple counts of assault and weapons misconduct, after State Troopers were called to his home last month.
According to court documents, when police knocked on his door, Sparks chambered a round in his gun.
As they retreated, Sparks left the residence and began to fire on the Trooper and the NPPD Officer.
State Troopers set up a perimeter and after firing multiple rounds, Sparks surrendered and was arrested without incident.
Trial in the case is scheduled to begin in January.
