North Pole Man acquitted of Kidnapping, Felony Assault.

A 12-member jury has acquitted a 32-year old North Pole area man on a host of felony charges
that could have drawn a possible life prison sentence had he been convicted.

During hearings Friday afternoon, Jason Hannah was sentenced to "time served" on a Misdemeanor
4th Degree Assault conviction, the lone charge jurors found him guilty of at the end of trial proceedings that took place last week.

Hannah had been charged with Kidnapping, Felony Assault, and other crimes tied to a domestic dispute with his

girlfriend in August, 2012.

According to a criminal complaint filed in State Court, Alaska State Troopers responded to a cabin off Badger Road

after a witness had seen Hannah chase the woman, catch her, and drag her back inside.

Troopers say when no one answered the door, they forced it open.

Inside they found the woman in a fetal position with a bloody, swollen face.

Hannah had served close to a year in jail before he went to trial in the case.
