NEWS UPDATE: North Pole woman dies after ATV accident.

Sources close to News Center 11 say a North Pole woman, critically injured June 29 in an ATV accident near Delta Junction, has died.

They say Carla Converse passed away Wednesday evening around 6:10 p.m.

Converse, according to the source, had been kept on life support as family traveled to Alaska from the Lower 48.

In a news release, Alaska State Troopers say just before 11:30 p.m June 29., they responded to a report of an ATV rollover near the Quartz Lake campground.

They say the area where the accident occurred is on an old Forestry Road, approximately five miles off Quartz Lake Road and near the campground area.

When a trooper arrived on scene, a family member was performing CPR on Converse.

Troopers say Converse was driving a Honda ATV down a bank onto the road when the ATV rolled and landed on top of her.

Troopers say Converse was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
