News Update: 7 year old Denali Elementary student involved in hit and run listed in "Serious Condition"

Last evening at approx. 6:30pm Fairbanks Police Department responded to a report of a hit and run involving a child.
Sources close to the Newscenter have identified the girl as 7 year old Denali Elementary Student, Sierra Carson of Fairbanks.
According to Officials, Carson was transported via EMS with severe injuries that included head trauma and possible internal bleeding.
She was flown to Anchorage and is currently at Providence Medical Center and listed under "Serious Condition."
 As of this morning, Police Officials have narrowed down the description of the vehicle as a smaller SUV that could range in color; anywhere from green, maroon, grey, or silver.
According to Lt. Matt Soden, Police are actively following all leads at this time and they are treating the case as an assault because the driver left the scene.
Fairbanks Police ask that anyone who was close to the area last evening or if you have any information that can lead to the identification of the vehicle or driver to please contact them at 450-6500. Police are also looking for the driver of a White Sedan who may have been passed by a Green SUV by Gottschalks approaching Cowles St. around the time of the accident.
