Alaska State Troopers say a 33 year old man has drowned at Chena Lakes.
According to trooper spokesman Tim Despain, the incident happened Sunday evening, and that the man had been swimming about 100 yards off shore
when he apparently began having difficulty and started calling for help.
Despain says the man went under the water before help could arrive.
As of 8:45pm, the man's body had not been located.
"We're now treating this as a recovery mission," said Despain.
This is a developing story.
