News Alert: Fairbanks Police search for another hit-and-run suspect

Fairbanks Police Department responded to a report of another hit-and-run last evening.

According to Sgt. Doug Welborn with the Fairbanks Police Department, they received the call around 10pm.

The call came in as a reported motor vehicle accident involving a pickup and a child on a bicycle.

Prior to police arriving on scene the pick up truck, described as a light colored, older model, two-door pickup truck, which was also “rusted,” left east bound on the frontage road near Pioneer Park.

The driver, described as an older white male with black hair and a possible beard got out of the vehicle to check on the boy and said quote, “Why weren’t you paying attention?”

He then told the boys he was “late for work” and left the scene.

The child, a 9-year-old Fairbanks boy, was transported to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with what Officials described as “minor” injuries.

FPD does ask that if anyone has any information on this individual or knows of anyone who was headed to work last evening at around 10pm with a vehicle that matches the description to please phone them at 450-6500.
