New Bus Stop Shelters for Borough

FAIRBANKS- The Fairbanks North Star Borough Assembly approved building up to 20 bus stop shelters in Fairbanks and North Pole. The first five shelters will go up this summer and are projected to cost about $30,000. The shelters will look similar to designs around the country, made of aluminum and covered with plexiglass on three sides. Busier stops will have electricity for lights and potentially reader boards, or TV monitors, showing current bus locations, similar to the ones that can be found on campus.
