Nenana Officials pull distraught woman off of bridge

Emergency personnel responded to a report of a person threatening to jump off of a bridge just outside Nenana yesterday.

The 35-year-old woman, whose name was not released, was reported to be very distraught.

According to Trooper Spokeswoman Beth Ipsen, Village Public Safety Officer Josh Harville worked together with the Nenana Fire Chief Joe Forness to pull the woman off of the bridge safely.

Troopers say she had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend, 36 year old Jeremy Hartig of Wasilla, who was arrested earlier for Criminal Mischief.

The woman was taken into protective custody for a medical evaluation in Fairbanks.
