MINNEAPOLIS, Mn,-In Wirth Park, day two of the Tour de Twin Cities SuperTour in Minneapolis, Minn. the Nanook men's and women's skiing team took the top spot beating rival Northern Michigan.
On the women's side two juniors had great races. Raphaela Sieber bested the collegiate skiers in the 15K with a 47 minute 21.7 second time which was seventh overall and 54 seconds ahead of the next collegiate skier. Alyson McPhetres got her first college win on Saturday finishing second and ninth overall in 48 minutes 25.4 seconds. For the women scores the Nanooks 78 Northern Michigan 67.
For the men sophomore Jones Loffler got his first college win finishing eighth overall with a 48 minute 6.7 seconds in the 20K. Senior Tyler Kornfield took fifth place and 22nd overall.
Over two days the Nanook men won 146-141 over Northern Michigan. As a team with both men's and women's scores tallied, the final was 301-274 UAF as both teams finished on top.
