Nanooks receive All-CCHA honors

FAIRBANKS, Ak-Even with the hockey season over and the Nanooks leaving the CCHA they are getting accolades from the conference.

A day after Tyler Morley was named to the all-CCHA rookie team and Colton Parayko and John Kenney received honorable mentions for the all-rookie team, senior Andy Taranto was named to the all-CCHA second team.

In 37 games Taranto led the Nooks with 16 goals and 30 points, ninth in the CCHA. Taranto also had a team leading 4 game winners. Taranto's career 59 goals and 120 points ties him 17th all time in scoring with former Nanook Dion Knelsen.

Seven teams were represented on the all-conference teams with Miami landing two on the first team.

Fellow senior and team captain Adam Henderson is a nominee for CCHA Scholar Athlete of the Year. In 37 games, the defensemen posted a career high 12 points this season while maintaining a 3.86 GPA pursuing a masters in business administration.
