Nanooks have important series to kick off Hockey Week in Fairbanks

FAIRBANKS-The Alaska Nanook hockey team will be kicking off Hockey Week in Fairbanks this weekend. UAF hosts the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers. It's the first meeting in 21 years between the programs.

The Chargers are WCHA doormat with a 1-14-1 record. Their last win was Dec7 against Bowling Green. They allow 4.3 goals per game and have not led in the third period.

This is a crucial series for Alaska who are 7-11-2. After splitting shutouts with Bemidji last week a sweep could put them tied for fifth in the WCHA depending on how other series this weekend shake out.
