Nanooks harpoon Seawolves in 7-2 win

FAIRBANKS-UAA got burned by arguably the hottest team in the WCHA on Friday night. The Alaska Nanooks extend their win streak to seven in a row with a 7-2 win in the third game of the Governor's Cup.

Cody Kunyk was on another planet with four goals on Friday including a solo 3-0 run with tallies in all three periods. He is now the leading scorer in the WCHA with 42 points and a league best 22 goals.

Tyler Morley added two goals as well and his scores came in the first period to ignite the Nanooks. UAF was up 5-0 before Brad Duwe's goal at the 9:16 mark of the final period.

Junior netmider Sean Cahill got his seventh straight win for UAF with 20 saves on 22 shots.

With the win Alaska secures home ice in the first round of the WCHA playoffs.

The Nanooks will try to repeat Friday's performance tonight to earn another Governor's Cup. Senior Colton Beck, Cody Kunyk, and Michael Quinn will be honored before the game for their senior night.
